Welcome to the Naval History app, which is free to download. Naval History is a bi-monthly magazine. It’s your instant connection to the most intriguing questions, theories, and musings that continue to fascinate naval historians. This app also brings you firsthand accounts of war at sea and explores naval strategies that have shaped nations.

In addition to the magazines content, we offer a few special interest compilations of authoritative and influential works are also available (currently iPad only). Special Interest Issues draw on our vast collection of content at the U.S. Naval Institute—the professional journal Proceedings, first published in 1874; the Oral History program, more than 50 years old; the Naval Institute Press, publishing books since 1878; the Photo Archive, which includes more than 500,000 images; the award-winning Americans at War video interview series; and of course, Naval History magazine.

SUBSCRIBERS AUTOMATIC-RENEWAL FEATURE: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Your iTunes account will automatically be charged at the same price for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period (another year for annual subscribers, another month for monthly subscribers) unless you change your subscriptions through your Account Settings after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during an active subscription period.
